Illicium parviflorum, commonly known as yellow anisetree, [1] yellow-anise, swamp star-anise, [3] and small anise tree, [4] is a species of flowering plant in the family Schisandraceae, or alternately, the Illiciaceae.

Yellow anise (Illicium parviflorum) is an evergreen shrub to small tree found in mesic hammocks, bluffs, ravines and seepage swamps. It is endemic to only seven Central Florida counties. Its dense evergreen foliage provides cover for birds and other wildlife.
