7 sie 2022 · I have two C&J framed TT500’s one of which I built from a ‘79 I bought new. The other is an ‘80 model with a slightly different model of C&J frame. Both run WB-1 cams and Arias 540 kits. I had to o-ring the heads with .035 copper wire to keep them from leaking with 11:1 compression even with a solid copper head gasket.

From there they went looking for a suitable lightweight frame for the bike. They decided on a Swedish Husqvarna motocross frame and modified it to fit the massive Yamaha thumper.
Yamaha HL500. This is a replica of an NVT frame in bronze-welded chrome-moly tube. Headstock bearings are 47mm and 55mm OD as per original. The kit is supplied with a heat treated aluminium swing arm, complete with bushes and shims, and a 20mm spindle slot.
