21 lip 2016 · The Yamaha U1 is the superior instrument, so it is the condition that matters. A 20 year old U1 could be ragged out (but polished to look good) or it could be excellent and performing better than a new B3 with similar longevity.

I’d recommend the Yamaha U1 of U3, also buy a used one, in my opinion they sound a little bit better (pianos peak when they’re +- 5 years old apparently) and they’re a lot cheaper. Or if you have the budget go for a used Steinway upright, they sound nice but are way more expensive than a used Yamaha.
