Visitors are welcome to enjoy historic spaces and curated exhibits at six Yale Library locations. Each of these locations also has a dedicated special collections reading room, where researchers can request and use rare, unique, or fragile materials.
The tours start at the Yale Visitor Center at 149 Elm Street. Hear about Yale’s rich 300-year history and aspects of student life at several of Yale’s fourteen residential colleges. The tour also includes the Gothic Sterling Memorial Library, Yale’s largest, and the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library.
Closed Mondays (except for Yale Commencement) and on these major holidays: New Year’s Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Admission. Open daily Monday to Saturday, the Yale Visitor Center welcomes visitors from around the world to explore our beautiful campus. Tours depart from the Visitor Center, cover the central campus area, and last approximately one hour. Registration is required. Undergraduate Admissions offers campus tours tailored to prospective undergraduates.
