The Yaesu FT-100 is a miniature mobile transceiver that provides coverage of the 160 to 6 meter bands plus the 144 MHz and 430 MHz bands! The ultra-compact FT-100D combines a unique, user-friendly front panel with high-tech features like DSP to provide performance well above many base stations.
The FT-100D's power amplifier section utilizes MOS FET devices, providing low noise, low distortion, and high reliability. The HF/50 MHz section produces 100 Watts of output, while the VHF/UHF section generates 50 Watts of power on 2 meters, and 20 Watts on 70 cm.

Yaesu say the aim was to produce a better shortwave listeners receiver for about two-third of the price of the old FRG-8800. They have succeeded very well. For the broadcast listener, the FRG-100 is better than the Lowe HF-150 and offers more features.
