From what I've seen on Youtube and data sheets, key differences are: -Speaker sounds better and / or louder (varies on who is testing it) -IPX7 water proof and more rugged case.
Based on what I've read, I'm leaning towards either the yaesu ft-65r or the baofeng UV-5R, although I've read that there are many fakes of the uv-5r out there and that the sound quality isn't as good as the yaesu.
