I use Heil's recommended setting for menu #'s 168 - 176 (Compression is on). Note that his "numbers" have two different boost settings for menu #175: +6 for everyday and +10 for a "punchier" sound for DX.
The MIC setting of 50 seems excessive. With no processing or AMC, my Heil headset with the HC5 element mic has the optimal setting of 9. Anything more yields distortion and decreased suppression.
14 paź 2017 · Here is a sample of audio between YB0AJZ using these mic settings, and KL7HRN on another rig (as recorded by myself HL1ZIX, in between in November 2018). As it happened, I caught YB0AJZ in a QSO and heard he had just used the settings for his FT-891, which I had suggested here.
