The M-100 is my first desk mike and I rate it at 5+ with the Yaesu FTdx10. Reports are all very positive without my asking. Comments such as "Sounds like we are in the same room with you sitting next to me" are not uncommon.

YAESU MD 100A8X Dexk-Top Microphone w/Tone Control. W5RVA. Rating: 2023-02-04. Great Mic, Solid Value. Time Owned: more than 12 months. I acquired an MD-100ax8 a couple of years after getting my FT-897, (over 20 years ago), and have always gotten 5-star audio reports. I also had the mic clip crack just above the yoke.
6 mar 2017 · Per Yaesu specifications, the MD100A8X boasts a cardioid dynamic mic element, at 500 ohms unbalanced. It allows up/down tuning on compatible transceivers, a scan switch, PTT switch, and a lock feature.
The stock Yaesu mic is extremely flat, which makes it sound bassy. I have posted in this forum some reasonable starting EQ points. In general start with setting the TX Bandwidth to 300-2700. That will drop off the really low bass, which will, as a result, emphasize the highs a bit more. Then add some treble boost.
20 gru 2019 · The Yaesu MD-100A8X is plug and play with the FTDX100 and almost all Yaesu owners love the mike: https://www.eham.net/reviews/view-product?id=1151 I own one and it does sound better than the 101 hand mic. However, any mic can sound great on the 101 if you spend the time to properly adjust the FTDX101 EQ, AMC,ALC,TX Bandwidth.
1 paź 2020 · Yaesu MD-100A8X Microphone Overview. The Yaesu MD-100A8X is an amazing sounding dynamic microphone considering that it can be purchased on special for around $200AUD. Audio reports seem to be comparable to the Heil microphones costing many times the price.
22 mar 2022 · I have not specifically used the M100 but no amateur grade mic should cost that much. What kind of radio are you using? Does it have internal adjustable mic EQ, compression and other settings to accommodate different mics?
