30 lis 2015 · Hello KC4RAF, I've also got a FT-2900R. It actually puts out 5/10/30/75 watts as input into a tuned antenna. Since I live right in the middle of about 10 repeaters, I use an "Ed Fong" duel band 2 meter/70 cm antenna mounted in thin wall pvc up in the attic. The antenna is rated for 75 watts.

What are your experiences ? How many Kilometers or miles of transmission range per Watt ? Can it work as a repeater ? THANKS

The controls on this unit are tight and feel good to the hand.
