22 mar 2001 · I've seen two different versions of the mod. One is unsoldering one jumper and resoldering another, and then the other is just unsoldering one. I just picked up a FT-2900R the other day, and would like to do the mars mod, but don't want to lose the auto repeater shift.
Yaesu ft-2900r frequency modification mars mod. So I was browsing the internet and learned of a really simple modification to the yeasu ft2900r mobile 2m transceiver. The radio comes stock with the abilty to receive from 136-174 MHz but will only transmit on the 2m ham band.
6 lis 2011 · I am a yaesu fan. The ft2900 is big and heavy. I used to have one but didn't ever have a time where the extra 20watts on the 2900 out performed the 1900. 99% of signal coverage is all about antenna set up.
25 cze 2015 · Just got this radio and the mod was very easy with the photos and information provided. The problem I have now is that I can't clone/program the radio after the mod. I was able to download radio image with CHIRP (today's daily snapshot) before the mod, but can't do it after.

The Yaesu FT-2900R is quiet and powerful. This ruggedly- built 2 meter transceivers boasts 75 watts of output. Yet no fan is required thanks to Yaesu's die cast chassis/heat-sink design.
30 lis 2015 · With the complexity of today's vehicles and their modular construction, I find the non-removable face plates of theFT-2900 and FT-1900 to be counterproductive when installing a radio in a vehicle. I much prefer radios such as the FT-7900 and similar for use in a vehicle.
