14 kwi 2002 · In my experience with my ft-2900r (same process) just melting the solder is usually enough to get it to stop bridging between the 2 halves. Worst case is that you'll have to get some desoldering braid (cheaply obtained from radio shack) and use it to remove some of the solder on the pad which will remove the bridge.
Tuning steps: 5 / 10 / 12.5 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 50 / 100 KHz. Frequency stability: ±10 ppm @ -20 to +60°C (-4 to +140°F) Mode: FM / NFM. Channels / memory management: 200 regular with alpha tags (6 characters) 8 banks.
I have owned the FT-1900 for just over a year and use it exclusively as a mobile rig. It has worked very well. I programmed it with the RT Systems software (the ONLY way to go!), and set power levels on all channels at LOW3 (25 watts).

I have a Yaesu FT-50R that is built like a Sherman tank, so I bought this small Yaesu FT-1900R mobile to install in a Toyota Corolla. With a 5/8 whip on the trunk I am able to work most repeaters with no problem, even on the lower power settings.
