YouTube really giving me 1 minute unskippable ads. When that happens, I just exit from the video and return once the ad is 5 seconds or a more reasonable length. Or just not return at all if the video isn't worth it. This is when watching on my TV, as I can't figure out how to blocks ads on it.
I use Ad Block Plus *for free* and YT works just fine. Also on Firefox as well. So far anything YouTube does, Ad Block Plus has a patch days alter.

90% of the ads I get are between 2-5 minutes long, they do still have the skip button though. Very annoying if you’re not in a position to press the skip button like driving and listening to a playlist.
