If you absolutely must use a CD to install your system, and you’re able to download updates while doing an install, we recommend using the Minimal CD, which is tiny and easily fits on a CD. It uses the text-based alternate installer, which is better for older hardware.

Install rEFIt (this step is optional, you can hold 'Alt' to select partition everytime instead). Use Boot Camp Assistant (it's in Applications/Utilities) to create new partition. 4 lis 2013 · You can put the image on a cd/dvd by burning the iso onto the optical disc you want to use. This can be done by different methods in different operating systems. Windows: Right click the iso file and select "Burn image to disc". Mac: Same as Windows. Ubuntu: Use Brasero Disc Burner. Hope this helps!
12 sty 2016 · One of the most recent community releases (Tahrpup) uses the Ubuntu 14.04 LTS packages. The Ubuntu server CD is not a live CD. It's installation only. Since you ask on AskUbuntu, here's an answer to what you're asking for.
13 sty 2019 · The I cannot find any possible way to run a Live CD ON a Mac. My Mac will boot right off of it, and it will run the Live CD as its own OS. I have Mepis Linux, and it just will not boot. How do I get my Mac to run off of it? Note that I have to use my USB-A Apple SuperDrive to boot off of and the run it.
I currently use Ubuntu 11.10 64bits and would like to switch to Xubuntu. If I run the command. sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop will it install only the desktop environnement (XFCE, if I'm not mistaking) or will it install everything like from a Xubuntu LiveCD?
20 paź 2020 · The desktop image allows you to try Xubuntu without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. You will need at least 192MiB of RAM to install from this image. 64-bit PC (AMD64) desktop image
