X.25 Over TCP (XOT) enables you to send X.25 packets over a TCP/IP network instead of a Link Access Procedure, Balanced (LAPB) link. XOT also allows you to tunnel X.25 traffic through an IP network. The Cisco IOS® software switches X.25 packets between an X.25 link and a TCP connection.
The following describes how XOT works to forward X.25 packets from Router A to Router D (this example uses SVCs): Router A sends a call request to Router D for setting up a virtual circuit. Router B receives the request and decides that this is an XOT application.
The X.25 over TCP (XOT) protocol encapsulates X.25 packets into TCP packets, allowing two X.25 networks to communicate over an IP network. XOT establishes a TCP connection between the two X.25 networks and encapsulates X.25 packets into TCP packets as the application layer data.
1 cze 2005 · XOT is X25 Over TCP, Request For Comments (RFC) 1613. This allows X.25 packets to be sent over a Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) network instead of a Link Access Procedure, Balanced (LAPB) link. In essence, we tunnel x25 traffic through an IP cloud.
X.25 PAD for XOT. Features Okay, so this is just a prototype for now... the goal is to create a cross-platform user space PAD allowing access to X.25 networks using XOT described in RFC 1613 .

jh-xotd ===== A version of Stephane Fillod's xotd for Linux that allows use of more than one xot remote and fixes some synchronisation bugs. This version uses a standard "tun" device and works with modern 2.6.x versions of Linux (without x25tap patches).
