18 gru 2011 · I have a full sized .40 xdm and a 9mm 3.8 compact. The .40 definitely has more recoil and is more "fun" to shoot but it's not unmanageable. The 3.8 compact is "compact" but it is not thin. Keep that in mind. I don't think you could go wrong on any xdm purchase personally.
21 mar 2011 · This is a very well written review of the Springfield Armory XD(m) 3.8 Compact (.40S&W). I have been carrying the same gun for six months and have put about 1500 rounds down range of various brands of ammo with no issues with the exception of frangible ammo when shooting indoor steels.
24 gru 2015 · Still, the XD (M) 3.8" Compact—introduced in 2011 and available in 9 mm Luger, .40 S&W and .45 ACP—caught our attention for its combination of desirable traits.
20 maj 2018 · Aside from shorter site radius, the XDm 40 3.8 Compact has a dual-spring, full-length steel guide rod recoil captivated system unlike the XDm 40 4.5, which is a single recoil spring. The XDm 40 3.8 Compact is to the XDM 40 4.5 as the Glock G23 is to the Glock G22 (or similar comparisons).
27 sie 2016 · I’ve carried the XDM 3.8 compact and the XDS 4.0 ever since. Wonderfully accurate and reliable, markedly better triggers, great grip ergos, and extremely soft-shooting. And I’ll probably get these same Springfields in 9 as well. Not a big 40 fan, although I’ll run it through the Glock 10s for practice given the cost savings.
5 paź 2016 · One failure to return to battery before it’s broken in, and no subsequent failures in several hundred rounds, deserves more than three stars for reliability. With any semi-auto, the parts need time to get to know each other and for the lubrication to get to all the right places.
31 paź 2011 · In addition the XDm 3.8 comes in a compact version which holds 13+1 rounds with the standard magazine while this model I tested holds 19+1 rounds. That is one heck of a lot of bullets! There’s just one problem trying to load those 19 rounds.
