The way to fix it is to remove the charge port and solder a new one on. To avoid the issue don't use the controller while the cable is plugged in, that's how USB ports get torn up. I am having the same issue, at first I thought I had a bad cable, but I’m not sure it’s the actual controller C-port.

For anyone whose controller is weird when playing a Xbox game pass on pc the problem is steam. In steam you go to settings and go to controller. In controller look toward what says “enable steam input for xbox controller” and switch it off. Put it back on if your playing a game on steam though.
31 mar 2021 · Xbox controller usb-c port broken. I need help with my Xbox controller's usb port. I use my Xbox controllers to connect to my laptop, and when connected via chord they disconnect constantly. They work well for a good week or two, but even when handles perfectly, they fail soon enough.
The front USB port on the new Xbox Series X/S is only USB 2.0 and plugging a USB C 2.0 cable into the new controller works just fine. But if you wanna use the cable for other things too that need higher bandwidth, go ahead and buy a USB C at USB 3.1 speeds.
