5 mar 2022 · The mac does recognize the controller, and it does connect to it via bluetooth, but when I try to play a game, the game recognizes the controller but doesn't respond to and button. The following notification appears: "This device needs a firmware update to resolve connectivity and performance issues".
If the automatic update failed, try manually updating your controller from your Xbox console settings. To do so: Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Go to Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Controllers & headsets. Select “…” under the controller that you want to update.
If you’re unable to update your controller with a wired connection, try using a different USB cable. The auto-detect feature of this update may not work immediately if you plugged your stereo headset adapter into the controller while downloading a system update, or while the console was turned off.

As one example: Run Steam in Big Picture Mode, then go to Settings - Controller Settings - Xbox One Controller (under Detected Controllers) - Calibrate.

I can pair the controller via bluetooth to the computer. When doing so, I then get a message stating "The device needs a firmware update to resolve connectivity and performance issues". This then directs me to Microsoft's website where I am given steps to update either through USB or wirelessly.
19 cze 2022 · I have attempted several times to pair my Xbox controller with my iMac but for some reason, it isn't being detected by the device. It would connect just fine with my MacBook Air. I'm assuming that this is an issue with the iMac.
