I'd disagree, after using rechargeable AAs since I got a 360, I picked up the MS battery pack last year and have already gone back to AAs. I picked it up I think in January, and by summer battery life was already noticeably decreasing.

From there you can create accessory service orders. For help with warranty details and service options, I recommend going over to Xbox Customer Support.
