29 lip 2022 · This guide can be used for repair/refurbishing purposes. DO NOT work on the power supply while it is plugged in or while the white/orange indicator light is on. High voltage capacitors, while charged, can seriously injure or kill you. Exercise caution during this repair.
To teardown the power supply was a lot easier than I previously have been lead to believe. There is no glue involved, no hidden screws and it is straight forward. As with any power supply, make sure that it is unplugged before even thinking of working on it.
If your Xbox begins to overheat, turn the power off and allow it to cool for at least an hour before continuing play. Alternatively, use an external fan to help circulate air across the device. If the RROD is already plaguing your Xbox, and your console is no longer covered by Microsoft's warranty, there is hope yet.
