I have a wired Xbox 360 controller and Windows 11. When I plug in the controller it says "USB device not recognized. The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognized it." I've looked all over online for any solutions.

9 maj 2021 · Basically, the issue is that when I plug it in to my PC, Windows says "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it." And when I go check in the Device Manager, I find a device called "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)".

Updating Windows. Tried to manually update device drivers through device manager but the driver I see after clicking "let me pick from list..." is for "unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) and installing it doesn't seem to help, I've tried a bunch of times.
1 mar 2022 · Are you using a USB hub or splitter? Don't connect the controller to that. Check for windows updates, reboot a few times with it disconnected, then try to connect it again. If there's another windows device available, try connecting the controller to that one. Worst case, you might have to dig up a copy of the old windows 7 driver. true.
28 lip 2024 · 1. If you don't already have one, purchase a Xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver for your computer. The gaming receiver uses a USB 2.0 connection. If it doesn't fit into the front USB slot in your desktop computer, try the back slot.
