17 sie 2018 · Firstly, you need to plug the USB receiver into a free USB port on your Mac. Once plugged in, the USB receiver’s light should start blinking. Press the big Xbox logo button on the controller so that it lights up green. Press the button on the USB receiver.
Tried the 360controller drivers and plenty of different ways of connecting it via USB. The light circle flashes a few times when connecting it, but then it just goes dim and doesn't respond to any inputs. Steam doesn't recognize it even in Big Picture Mode. I'm on the M1 Pro Macbook Pro 16".
5 mar 2022 · The mac does recognize the controller, and it does connect to it via bluetooth, but when I try to play a game, the game recognizes the controller but doesn't respond to and button. The following notification appears: "This device needs a firmware update to resolve connectivity and performance issues".
Most likely needs an update. Connect it to PC and update the firmware, your Mac should recognize it then. Or here, link for the newest drivers you can install these on your mac and you should be good to go
The Big Sur update broke the kext (kernel extensions) method that the 360Controller driver used to work, so that's why it doesn't install or function anymore. The officially recommended method is to use bluetooth now, but I'm not actually sure if the 360 controller works natively.
15 lut 2020 · I just updated my Mac to Catalina and was having the same issue. Got my controller to show up using Alpha 5. Here's what I did: Install the Alpha 5 driver, restart, and don't open when system restarts. Pair your Xbox controller through the Mac bluetooth preferences WITHOUT the USB cable plugged in. The controller shows up and pairs immediately.
