WWF Greece is the national office of WWF in Greece. We are aligned with the key goals and values that govern the operation of the global WWF network, but we are financially independent. We also set our priorities and strategy based on the needs for the protection of nature in Greece.
The ultimate aim of WWF Greece is to maintain the rich biodiversity of the country as well as to prevent and eventually reverse environmental degradation in the region. WWF first started field work in Greece in 1969, before an official office was set up, rehabilitating the Kaisariani forest on Ymittos.
