Incorporated in 1976, WVHCA is dedicated to helping maintain the high standards of licensed long-term care facilities. As the state’s largest long-term care trade association, we currently represent over 120 member nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and residential retirement centers.
The HCCRA became known as the West Virginia Health Care Authority (WVHCA) in 1997. The WVHCA’s mission is to collect information on health care costs and ensure accessibility to appropriate health care services. The West Virginia Legislature during 2016 and 2017 passed legislation which resulted in significant changes to the agency.
