28 sty 2015 · The reverse gear in our CR-V sounds like it's straight-cut. Or, at least it makes the same noise as a manual transmission does in reverse. Our MDX's reverse gear is as quiet as the forward gears, so I assume that it's cut the same as them.
This box is good for drag racing, (used in cars that run under 9 second times), competitive circuit racing and high-level rallying. The straight cut gears from 1st to 4th are virtually unbreakable and can handle up to 500 kw of power at the wheels.
1 lut 2009 · Second gear is usually for slower turns, third gear to get you to the next corner, forth gear for that high speed turn, and fifth gear to pull through the back 1000ft straight. An autoX guy will like a nice short 2nd gear and 3rd gear, more like the STi 6spd 2nd gear and 3rd gear.
You can buy straight cut gears for any popular manual transmission. You can also buy a sequential shift box for them. Nether one is recommended for the streets due to short service life.
29 sie 2005 · They sell a 5-speed helical set that will take the 450whp you want to throw at them. They will be just a touch louder than stock gears (really unnoticeable for the most part). The straight cut gears aren't that much stronger than the helical (thicker tooth profile vs. larger contact area pretty much evens it out) but the straights are a lot louder.

Helical gears have angled or spiral-shaped teeth, which results in smoother engagement and quieter operation, but sacrifices some efficiency and durability compared to straight-cut gears.
