Your best bet is to either: Go Silithis and go between 1-2 caves; Go Burning Steppes and grind the orcs just east of BRM entrance. The 5 nodes around the building have a 5-10 minute shared timer.

I have found the most consistent source of Thorium to be Un'Goro Crater. There are 2 or 3 veins to be found inside the cave with the apes (north end). There are also 1 or 2 that can be found in the volcano area (center) including a rich thorium vein.
