The Columbiettes are a vibrant Catholic women's service organization which began over 80 years ago. They are currently active in 20 states - including 17 auxiliaries in NC alone. Members are active in their parishes and communities - they assist those in need and support each other.
The Columbiettes are women members of auxiliary council affiliated with a local Knights of Columbus council. History. In 1939, Monsignor J. Francis McIntyre, Chaplain of the New York Chapter Knights of Columbus, later a cardinal, suggested formation of the group.
9 maj 2022 · RALEIGH - The North Carolina State Columbiettes, a Catholic women’s organization aligned with the Knights of Columbus, recently celebrated their 23rd Annual Convention. The convention was held April 29-30 at the Embassy Suites Raleigh Crabtree, and 90 delegates represented 888 members statewide.
On March 2, 1939, the first Columbiettes were instituted in New York City. Since that memorable day, many new Auxiliaries were formed and eventually State Councils and a Supreme Council were established.
