Each year, the AOPA Foundation hosts an annual High School Aviation STEM Symposium, bringing together dedicated educators from around the nation for three days of sharing insights, ideas, and best practices for starting and building aviation STEM programs.
AOPA, in partnership with Purdue University, is building high school aviation STEM curricula that will fit within career and technical education pathways. We will offer a four-year curriculum for each pathway—pilot, aerospace engineering, and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
Proposed Curriculum Patterns. The planners of August Martin High School developed patterns for a proposed curriculum. These patterns are shown in the following charts for the 9th and 10th years and the 11th and 12th years respectively in Charts 1 and 2.
