The PVA office collects data and obtains information about real property from several different sources: The City and County Planning and Zoning offices provide a list of permits as they are issued. These have all improvements such as additions, garages, multiple dwellings (duplexes, apartments, condos), pools and manufactured home placements.
The PVA is responsible to ensure the fair and equitable assessment of property value in the County for the benefit of state, county, cities and other taxing districts. Notices are distributed each year during the Spring that explain the value assigned to each property.

The Property Valuation Administrator (PVA) is the county official responsible for assessing most real property. All real property is subject to being revalued yearly, and all real property parcels must be physically inspected by the PVA office at least once every four years.
