Woodford County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 26,871. [1] Its county seat is Versailles. [2] The area was home to Pisgah Academy. Woodford County is part of the Lexington-Fayette, KY Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is located in the center of the Bluegrass region of Kentucky.

Established as one of the nine counties of the Commonwealth in 1792; the original boundaries followed the Kentucky River from Mundy's Landing, (located on Woodford County’s southern tip), north to the Ohio River and then east to the mouth of the Licking River at present day Covington.
Six Horse Country members call Woodford County home, along with a number of distilleries and other horse farms. Versailles and Midway are rich with history and the culture of rural Kentucky, with downtown shops and restaurants that feature locally sourced products and food.
