For what it’s worth Wolverine bought Bates. Bates makes a much more comfortable boot in my opinion. I get about a year from mine and they are usually on sale for the $60-80ish range.

This is unfortunate indeed, but Wolverine does make quality footwear and your isolated experience does not mean that they don't make BIFL boots. Edit: also possible they aren't legit 1000 miles. Certainly look sketchy to me and your experience wearing them backs that up.

I've been purchasing my boots and work clothing from Wolverine for well over a decade, they were good years ago but, unfortunately, nothing lasts and I witnessed a steady decline in both the quality of their boots and the efficacy of their customer service, shipping and other departments.

The big problem with Wolverine is that many of their boots fit very differently from each other. You cannot safely say that you wear a size 11M in all Wolverine boots as it is very likely you might wear 12EE in one, 11M in another, and then 10.5 4E in another.
