Major Softball is an 10-12 year-old ability based division. Players will be required to attend a mandatory tryout in late winter/early spring & will be evaluated by the league and assigned managers. Returning players remain on the same team as the previous year.
Often a family's first introduction to baseball/softball, Woburn Little League's AAA Softball Division provides coaching instruction from parent volunteers & Woburn Little League board members. Our coaches are responsible for teaching the fundamentals of throwing, catching, batting, fielding, and base running.
Rule 1.10 – Softball. The bat must be a softball bat which meets Little League specifications and standards as noted in this rule. It shall be a smooth, rounded stick and made of wood or a material tested and proved acceptable to Little League standards.

01A: General Rules 01A.1: A Woburn Little League Week goes from Monday to Sunday. 01A.2: One (1) manager and three (3) coaches only will be allowed inside the fence at all times. No batboys, batgirls, parents, friends, or family are permitted. All coaches must have their Woburn Little League badges clearly visible to be allowed inside the fence.
