Asian-American here as well, and grew up in California where there is tons of amazing Asian food. I had the same reaction as you did when I went to Wo Hop. To understand its appeal, you have to accept a couple things. One, it's not Chinese food, it's Chinese-American food which is its own thing.

3 paź 2016 · Best place in Chinatown! Buy a T-shirt and then wear it when you go and they'll treat you well! All of the food is delicious beyond words. You can't go wrong with anything you order. My boyfriend has been patronizing Wo Ho for more than 30 years and it's consistently amazing for him! Was so hungry that I forgot to take more photos of our dishes .
