Windows Media Center was a full-screen media player and video recorder designed for use on home theater PCs. It competed against digital recording devices like the Tivo. Media Center was intended to be something that home users could install and configure themselves on commodity PC equipment.
Media Center is only available as an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) install. It is a version of the XP OS. If your PC didn't come with it from a place like Dell you can't normally upgrade to it.

10 lis 2013 · You wont be able to use an XP home license to install Media Center. Some manufacturer CDs don’t need to be activated, similar to VLP. Ymmv. There are some utilities to recover the license key, if the current OS is installed and operational.
