In short : - XP accepts any positive or negative 32bit number (that is from -4294967294 up to +4294967295), and convert it to a signed 32bit. - 7 only accepts signed 32bit numbers if in decimal or octal (in hex, it's "OK" from -0xFFFFFFFF to +0xFFFFFFFF).
