I find most bluetooth remote are made for Android systems, and they don't really work on PC. Tried buying two in the recent past off amazon, and both would pair to the computer and be recognized as remotes, but disconnect and fail as soon as I press any button.
Is it possible for local USB devices to be accessed via a remote PC through remote desktop? Is there software or other configuration that can be done to support this? More specifically, I'm referring to the ability to access any USB device rather than just a flash drive.

21 cze 2010 · There is no Control Panel applet for the remote control in any version of Media Center, only some settings withing the MC interface itself. What type of remote is it? When you plug the IR receiver into a USB port, did you get any notice that it was recognized (sound, popup on screen)?
If you use VLC player the easy cheap way to do this is purchase a "pc usb media centre remote" with usb receiver from ebay. This yt video shows how to use it and configure the remote ctrl keys to vlc functions e.g. volume.
