On a computer that is running Windows 7, the usable memory (RAM) may be less than the installed memory. For example, a 32-bit version of Windows 7 may report that there is only 3.5 GB of usable system memory on a computer that has 4 GB of memory installed.
This article at Microsoft's MSDN site shows the memory limits for versions of Windows and Windows 7 32-bit is listed as a 4 GB limit. You used to be able to use PAE to see more than 4 GB of RAM with Windows XP but this option was disabled in Service Pack 2.
My advice would be to go with Windows 7 Professional, since the Enterprise and Ultimate also have a 192 GB limit on RAM. The only main features you would be missing would be BitLocker and extended language support.
