I really want to play The Sims 4 through Steam, and I cannot download it using EA/Origin since it's "linked through Steam". I feel like Link2EA is where the problem is happening. I also suspect the game key may be broken and that's why it refuses to connect, but I got it for free on Steam.
31 sty 2024 · What works for me is starting the EA app once separately from Steam then quitting it . Steam doesn't always set it up properly again after an update. Just make sure that "Start with Windows" and "Enable background services" are disabled under Settings -> Application.
27 sty 2023 · After I linked my Steam to a new EA account, the game no longer launches at all. I've tried everything: reinstalling, repairing, even switching back to my old EA account (through their customer service) and nothing is working.
1 mar 2023 · Instead of updating the EA App to the new version, the installer destroys the app's EA-specific way of starting old EA games bought on Steam. If you ask EA Support for help, do not expect to get a solution.
22 maj 2023 · Try it out to ensure it works: first, completely exit the Origin/EA app, and check it's not idling in the tray. Then, try launching the game from Steam. Steam should run the Origin/EA app and also "feed it" the necessary arguments to have your game launch automatically without you having to perform any extra actions separately.
