29 paź 2017 · In terms of general damage, in the United States, we consider 50 knots (58 mph, 93 km/h) to be the speed where the likelihood of notable damage is high enough. Damage can occur to some very vulnerable objects (things like tarps and tents (and umbrellas!) can way well before that) at lower speeds.
18 maj 2024 · Generally speaking, wind speeds between 30-50 mph (48-80 km/h) can cause minor damage such as loose shingles, small tree branches breaking and minor debris scattering. However, when wind speeds exceed 50 mph (80 km/h), the potential for more significant damage increases significantly.
47 to 54 mph Structural damage occurs, such as chimney covers, roofing tiles blown off, and television antennas damaged. Ground is littered with many small twigs and broken branches.
8 mar 2019 · By 75 km/h, the wind is strong enough to damage structures. By 90 km/h it can uproot entire trees. And 118 km/h wind is considered hurricane force…but happily it doesn’t get that windy every...

Figure 3) presents the basic wind speed map, which provides design 3‐sec gust values at 33 ft in flat, open terrain. In the continental U.S., the wind speeds range from 90 mph to 150 mph. Since the wind pressure loads are a function of velocity squared, the most extreme design loads
