2 mar 2013 · One great example for pistol loaders is Winchester W231 and Hodgdon HP-38 (the same powder branded differently). I have used this powder for many different cartridges and load levels- it meters great, is super-versatile, and is a great bulk-buy in 8 lb canisters.

20 maj 2012 · Looking in my 'one book / one caliber' Winchester data shows a charge of 3.4 grains 231 giving 880 fps from a 8-3/8" barrel and a pressure of 19,500 CUP. RCBS data shows 3.1 grains 231 yielding 648 fps and 3.6 makes 749 from a 6" barrel.
10 maj 2009 · Anyone have old loading manuals, powder company phamplets, etc that show data for a 147 grain JHP or FMJ bullet in 9 mm with WW231? ( or HP38 as it's same) I know there's lots of other slower powders out there with data but I have 8 lbs of 231.
15 paź 2011 · I've been working up a load using Win 231 and a Hornady 148gr hollow-based wadcutter. Hornady manual shows 2.2 grains min up to 3.5 grains max, but that's still a tiny bit of powder compared to the space in the case. 3.0-3.4 grains seems to be a popular load range for this combination.
24 kwi 2018 · I use quite a bit of win 231 in the 44 mag with 215 and 240 gr SWC lead bullets. IIRC I used just over the max for 44 special load data. I believe the 240 gr load is 7.5 gr of 231.
