Probably. Nier has very suddenly become a pretty big name, and Replicant showed that they don't need Platinum fully involved for the gameplay to still be great, so I'm sure another Nier game is in early stages, likely after a Drakengard 3 remaster, if I were to make a guess.
I've always expected that a hypothetical sequel would just do what Automata did to Replicant; a sequel to the timeline, not necessarily a direct sequel to the story or characters. I don't need another direct adventure with 2b and 9s, but I would like another proper Nier game set in the same universe. 8. Reply.
