The Wii could originally read DVDs from the Disc Channel, it just needed a few things. (1) patched .brlyt to show and center DVD .tpl

19 sie 2008 · The app used for DVD playback is a port of mplayer, which means you can also play videos off the SD card if you'd rather not use the DVD drive. EDIT: Here's a list of other Wii media players. DragonMedia Player and GeeXboX are pretty good, and can play things from USB mass storage devices.
