I don't know if this helps but when a character gets stuck somewhere, go to "Extras" > "Friend Grab: ON" > Use another one of your characters and press the Grab button to free them. It worked for me in Lego Batman 2, hopefully Lego Batman 3 has this feature as well.
To fix the crashing you must "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" on Steam. This can be done by right-clicking your game in the Library and selecting "Properties". The you have to select the "Local files" tab and click the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" button.
So I purchased the Lego Batman Trilogy on steam during the current sale and I was playing Lego Batman for a little bit, but when I tried to change the video settings the game crashed and now it won't load passed a black screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
