WIG20 index has been calculated since April 16, 1994 based on the value of portfolio with shares in 20 major and most liquid companies in the WSE Main List. The initial value of WIG20 index was 1000 points. It is a price index and thus when it is calculated it accounts only for prices of underlying shares whereas dividend income is excluded.
