If you want to use GameMaker, I would recommend using current version. GameMaker was previously called GameMaker Studio 2, name changed to just "GameMaker". GameMaker has free version without time or resource limitation, and you can publish to GX games. If you wish to export to other targets, you need subscribe though.
These still work on windows 10 at least, probably 11 too, so you should be able to open your old projects without issue. You can even get your old projects up to the modern versions by downloading all relevant major versions and export your project from one version to the next until you hit gms2.
17 sty 2024 · In the game maker download section, there is the option to download game maker studio 1.4, and I want to know if it is now free, since I don't understand why they would put the program there if you can't buy a license
Please do not use 1.4.1567 - although the most popular version in certain circles by a huge margin, it spots an impressive amount of issues and you are missing out on optimizations and "Fast Collision System" checkbox that were introduced around 1.4.1763.
