1.4 is easy to handle anyway. 2.0 have some quality of life improvement but it's only regarding the visual of the IDE and a few features for more advanced gamemaker devs. I don't know if 2.0 is fully available free though.
Please do not use 1.4.1567 - although the most popular version in certain circles by a huge margin, it spots an impressive amount of issues and you are missing out on optimizations and "Fast Collision System" checkbox that were introduced around 1.4.1763.
I'm using 1.4 currently. Downloaded 2.X free to check compatibility with my current project. Didn't seem too bad. Just a few things with views and backgrounds and a few other things and the project is converted from 1.4 to 2. Ran without errors on first compile.
17 sty 2024 · In the game maker download section, there is the option to download game maker studio 1.4, and I want to know if it is now free, since I don't understand why they would put the program there if you can't buy a license
