8 kwi 2014 · iPhone doesn't know from the winmail.dat files, it just receives and (tries to) display whatever was sent. Not having support for the Microsoft Windows winmail.dat message format, you'll just get an attachment that's not viewable.
15 sie 2009 · Lately some attachments I have received on my iPhone show up as winmail.dat files which will not open on my iPhone. However when I log onto my PC the exact same attachments show up correctly as the jpeg files that were sent.

20 maj 2021 · Something has changed and I do not know what/how, but any email attachments (documents, photos, PDFs) etc on my iPhone now come up in winmail.dat format. I have always used this to send items from my laptop/computer that I can add to Notes on my phone or use photos to personalise my contacts details, and have never previously encountered a problem.
