I get what you mean by trying to price out low quality drop shippers. Just a lot of earrings (including handmade) don't always have a higher selling price. One example, stainless steel is a good material for earrings, but won't sell for nearly as much as gold filled. Maybe try searching a few different price points to see what you find.

Most of what I bought has been nicely made, but I follow the standard rules of thumb — high-rated sellers with lots of sales, 5 star rated products with buyer images in the reviews. I also only buy earrings, since they have the least contact with skin/sweat so are likely to last longer.
