The one who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love. [He is the originator of love, and it is an enduring attribute of His nature.] Christian Standard Bible
19 cze 2024 · At its core, the statement "God is love" means that love is an essential attribute of God's character. It is not merely one of His many characteristics but is central to who He is. According to 1 John 4:16, "God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them."
5 lis 2024 · Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” - 1 John 4:7-8. Love. The word “staggers before its task of even describing the reality,” writes R.C. Sproul in his book, God’s Love. As with all attributes, we can only begin to comprehend God’s love in light of his other attributes.
26 kwi 2024 · Answer. In 1 John 4:7–8, the apostle John returns to one of his favorite subjects—love: “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love” (NKJV).
Love comes from God, so those who demonstrate love show they have fellowship with Him. The inverse is also true. The person who does not demonstrate love does not know God.
Instead of "love is of God" (verse 7), we have "God is Love" - a far deeper thought; and instead of "knoweth not God," we have "knew not God," or, as we should say in English, "hath not known" or "never knew God."
