1 gru 2022 · Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a single tax system levied on goods and services from manufacturing to consumption, aiming to eliminate multiple indirect taxes. It was introduced in India in 2017, following a history that spans back to 1954 with over 160 countries adopting it.
The GST was launched at midnight on 1 July 2017 by the President of India, and the Government of India. The launch was marked by a historic midnight (30 June – 1 July) session of both the houses of parliament convened at the Central Hall of the Parliament.
