You can test to see if that is the actual problem by using a usb battery pack to temporarily power the device instead of your car so that only one cable is plugged in to your car (aux). If that makes the problem go away, then you are very likely to be able to solve your problem by putting the isolator above inline with your aux cord.

Out of the box with default settings, my Pixel 6 was getting to 113F battery after 30 minutes and no charging. Now, it's 103F and some charging (depending on how long my car was in the sun, have a pocket based Qi charger that gets warm). Make sure you have realistic expectations going in.
